Same Soul, Different stage: A Birthday Reflection


Past Self: Happy Birthday, Richa.

Present Self: Thank you, "old version of me".

Past Self: So tell me who called you at midnight first?

Present Self: Oh, come on, I am a grown-up now. It does not matter anymore, and I don't stay up till 12 AM (sigh).

Past Self: Really? Sounds boring. 
A Birthday is incomplete without attending the midnight calls.

Present Self: No one calls now at midnight on birthdays ๐Ÿคฃ.  I prefer 8 hours of sleep. ๐Ÿ˜ด At this point, I only want a slow life. 

Past Self: Slow ??? Are you mad or what? Whereas I love twists and turns in my life. I am a fun-loving girl. 

Present Self: Yes, I am fun-loving too, but now I am a mother first. Responsibilities can change your likes and dislikes. My life has become so busy. All I want is the slow mornings. 

Past Self:   Fine, but "age is just a number", isn't it?

Present Self: Dude age might be a number on paper but it eventually shows you her real face through your body. What about the knee pain, backache, bloating and do not ignore the fertility issues. Don't forget that our bodies definitely keep track. 

Past Self: Richa, you talk like an old lady.

Present Self: No, that's a Real Talk.

Past Self: You mean, there is no place for adventure in your life ??

Present Self: See, our mind and soul can stay young and vibrant, even when our bodies might not be as cooperative. It's all about staying curious, keeping a positive attitude and living life to the fullest. You tell me, how is your life going?

Past Self: I am sorted. No ifs or buts to anything or anyone I don’t like. 

Present Self: Amazing. Saying NO without hesitation takes a lot of confidence and self-awareness. It’s important to set boundaries and prioritise your own needs and feelings. You are doing You. Because you have no responsibilities. Enjoy your life as much as you can. 

Past Self: How’s life treating you? I bet it’s a whole different ball game now. Juggling mom duties and responsibilities. 

Present Self: Missing those carefree days but I've got tiny hands that grab my heart tighter than any adventure ever could.

Past Self: Ok dude, I gotta go. My Hostel friends threw a surprise party for me๐Ÿ˜ƒ. 

Present Self: Enjoyyyyyyy. Meanwhile I do my enjoyment with my little world ๐ŸŒ.
